Lots of four Chinese crystal snuffboxes with agate stopper. These snuffboxes are entirely hand painted and come from Chinese craftsmanship. The level of detail of the patterns drawn on these bottles requires several days of work for the painters. Comes in a Chinese style storage case.

Also called "snuff bottles", Chinese snuff bottles come in the form of small vials that protect the tobacco from moisture. This snuffbox closes with an airtight stopper which is made of agate stone.

During ancient China (Qing Dynasty), smoking tobacco was illegal. However, snuff was allowed, since tobacco was considered to be a remedy for colds, nausea, migraines or stomach aches. It is for this reason that snuffboxes are part of the Chinese cultural heritage today.
