The Tibetan singing bowl is an essential object of Tibetan and Buddhist culture. Tibetan bowls are used during various rituals and ceremonies (during ritual chanting, funeral ceremonies or ancestor worship). However, its most common use is to assist monks or practitioners during relaxation or meditation sessions. According to Tibetan legend and tradition, singing bowls are composed of 7 metals which are linked to the 7 planets: gold for the sun, silver for the moon, mercury for Mercury, copper for Venus, iron for Mars, tin for Jupiter, and lead for Saturn.
