Rosewood, or Dalbergia odorifera, is a precious wood which was already used to make the high quality furniture of the Ming dynasties and the first Qing. Its touch is extremely soft because its grain has an unequaled finesse. It gives off a slight smell of pear, which gave it its name of odorifera. The growth of this tree is very slow, which explains its rarity.
Of fully artisanal manufacturing, this box is made of rosewood from China.
